Workday Adaptive Planning is a must for growing organizations!
Absolutely love workday adaptive planning, has taken our financial and budget capabilities to a whole new level!
Pros
Workday allowed us to do all of our financial planning in one central hub. We can easily budget, generate financial statements, and run many different what if versions for all revenue and budget scenarios. Super user friendly for all planning options!
Cons
It was slightly tough to implement and get things started in the system, just very different than other financial planning tools I’ve worked with. Once you get it implemented, everything is smooth sailing!

Work hard for Workday
Workday is mainly for business use, so it does have its areas for improvement. However, if I built a company and had to manage the information of my employees. I would not hesitate to utilize this platform to optimize the company.
Pros
I mainly used workday when I was working for FedEx. It was useful when organizing bank statements and schedules. Keeping up with benefits and Tax information was a plus as well.
Cons
The only thing I had an issue with was after the update of the workday; there was not a clear enough explanation of how to navigate the apps. The new dashboard shows you everything on the main screen. You still needed to somewhat navigate through the site yourself and figure things out on your own.

Adaptive Review
It was good. I will definitely work on Adaptive again in the future.
Pros
The architecture is really good. The ability to save the data and propagate it throughout the system was a plus. Additionally, the dimensions in reports and seeing differences between the dimensions were very useful.
Cons
The personnel and TBH list were in two different model lists. It is preferred if the employees, titles, etc were dimensions s nice that is the largest expense of our business. The reports by the employee and by account were difficult to use.

PlanfulReasons for Switching to Workday Adaptive Planning
We switched from Adaptive Planning at the end of last year to today. Currently, HeartFlow uses Planful for budgeting and forecasting. Planful's architecture is not as good. Saving information sometimes requires additional steps for WFP or reporting.- Industry: Real Estate

Not great on lower level user side
I don't love it, but eventually got the hang of it. We use it for budgeting, and it's not the easiest to understand or plug things in. For team members that are new to the process in general, it makes it worse than it needs to be, which isn't my favorite. I hope it has better benefits for other team members though.
Pros
It looks nice, and it theoretically should have capability to use data year over year. That would be nice, for the future.
Cons
It's hard to use, understand, navigate, and figure out what is going on. For an onsite team member doing data entry, it's just way harder than it should be in my opinion.

Great budgeting and forecasting solution
Pros
Seems like it is built similar to the excel spreadsheet model where you can really make it anything you need.
Cons
Requires more training at the front end compared to other more robust (and expensive) systems. Doesn't seem to have two-way communication with Sage Intacct with regard to real time data pulls.

Adaptive Insights impresses even more than expected
Pros
Our employees were used to working with Excel spreadsheets. We considered such an approach not completely effective, so our choice turned next to Adaptive Insights. There are no restrictions on the size of the documents. This program is synchronized with other applications, including such important for us solutions like SAP and Oracle. We like the high accuracy of the reports we can create on the tool’s base. It is also important that all data are in one place and don’t require much effort for their processing and analysis. Adaptive Insights is a multifunctional tool with a robust and well-thought-out suite of features. This application allows our employees to track finances, budgets, sales, resources, and labor contribution. With its help, our company’s managers are also able to collect divergent data, make various kinds of reports, build models, and make optimal business decisions.
Cons
It would be better if Adaptive Insights had an opportunity to filter for specific months while working with spreadsheets. This lack of functionality makes our work a bit confusing sometimes. We wouldn’t mind adding more advanced features to the planning tools as well. We believe it would behoove this product if it had several tutorial videos on how to use it to the full extent. Even though we find this tool user-friendly, it doesn’t mean at all that it is so for every company.

Adaptive is great for small to medium sized enterprises
I use adaptive for 5 year planning, strategic modelling & scenario planning
Pros
The ability to build a bottoms up budget/forecast is an attractive component on this software. It is an assumption based model that is easy to follow and update in the backend
Cons
There is some functionality that it lacks for assumption sheet creation.

Strong Tool that Keeps Improving
Pros
I like that adaptive has continued to innovate and improve their product over time. The basic plan option is solid for a SMB, though there are some individual bells and whistles that I would like it to have like Office Connect that require a more expensive membership
Cons
Learning to speak the adaptive "language" is a big barrier to entry from an employee perspective, we become afraid to change the model for fear of breaking it so we aren't leveraging all we have available to us.

Great product for your business
I have complete control over my data using this software.
Pros
Workday makes it super easy to manage all aspects of my job from scheduling to time off and payment elections and tax withholdings anywhere at anytime.
Cons
The task workflow process seems a bit drawn out and unclear for some things. There are a lot of options that still appear even if not enabled by the administrators.

Adaptive Planning Review
Overall we have been pleased with Adaptive Planning. We originally transitioned to Adaptive from excel based reporting due to increasing data allocation requirements. After several months of implementation we were able to start populating our weekly financial reports entirely from data exported from Adaptive. The end result has been a significant decrease in reporting time, even though we now splice our data by more dimensions than we have looked at in the past. This would not have been possible in excel, and we now have more time to analyze our information instead of being stuck in the reporting cycle.
Pros
The best part of the software for me is the ability to quickly create reports based on any selected dimensions, levels, and timeframes. This is something that historically would have taken us a significant amount of time and is now done in minutes.
Cons
My least favorite parts about the software are the difficulty in navigating the data sheets and the inability to lock formulas and values in historical versions while updating formulas going forward. I would love to see greater functionality to search in data sheets by specific columns.

AI Review
Pros
This is a solid software base that my firm uses to consolidate forecasting data and pull those forecasts for board review. It is a great platform to use for data warehousing and to pull massive subsets of data. Those pulls can then be used and pasted into Excel or whatever template that you need to generate the proper metrics.
Cons
The functionality is not as user friendly as you would like. The customized reporting is complex and hard to understand. I would recommend sitting in on a seminar or tutorial before committing to it. It isn't quite user friendly and, for us, we don't use it for anything but generating massive paste fills to be dumped into our reporting templates.

Adaptive Planning is 100 times better than an Excel Spreadsheet
Prior to Adaptive Planning, my company used 100's of complex spreadsheets for our annual budgeting process. The system is configured to do everything our spreadsheets did for us and more. No more formatting spreadsheets for each of our 90 depts...
Pros
Add assumptions one time and all applicable areas are updated.
Cons
Version protection could be better. Some changes in assumptions aren't version specific, therefore previously locked versions are affected. This is not good for companies that use prior budget versions for benchmarking purposes. The reporting module could be a little more robust but can give you some nice basic reports.

Working with Adaptive Insights is a breeze
We have been using Adaptive Insights for over 4 years. So far we are a happy camper. We are happy with our investment and choice. Adaptive greatly cut down our time in deploying and completing our annual budgets.
Pros
- Quick and easy to consolidate all accounts for all business units
- Status tracking is made easy
- Superb customer services
Cons
Would love to see the changes in future releases:
- Ability to import formulas rather than having to manually set up 1000+ formulas in Adaptive;
- Ability to line up notes in reports

Proactivity over Reactivity
Our initial implementation was rough. Our 3rd party consultant tried to fit our unique companies into their cookie-cutter implementation package and it didn't work out. Since rebuilding on our own, we have a model that works well for our family of companies and we are able to continually improve in conjunction with frequent Adaptive Suite upgrades and continued learning.
Pros
Ease of use, customer service.
Cons
